Elsie Michigan is my hometown, well, more accurately, my village.  It boasts one of the largest herds of milk cows in the world, and on a good day the wind is blowing south.

The most important decision I ever made was the decision to allow Jesus to take the reins of my life. I was 11 years old. I was riding my school bus when my thoughts turned to Jesus. I supposed that those thoughts were my own; but I now know that it was the Holy Spirit speaking to me… to me, a child.

He asked; “Do you remember when you asked Jesus into your heart?”

“No,” I answered.

“Will you let Him have control of your whole life,” He asked.

“Yes,” I answered.

“Would you like to invite Him into your life now so that you can be sure and so that you will remember this day?”

“Yes, I will.” And I did.

That decision led me to the most wonderful and handsome best friend and husband. He plays guitar, sings and loves to cook.  God has also blessed me with ten (yes, ten!) energetic and fun-loving kids; four girls and six boys.  Six of my children are biological and three are adopted (and one adopted us)!  They have given me two wonderful sons in law and a very sweet daughter-in-law, as well as eight beautiful grandchildren who call me Nana.

When I was only 16 God called me to be a stay-at-home-Mom. It has not always been easy, but I have obeyed that call. The call of God on my life has included teaching (both children and adults). Teaching others to love and serve the Lord is my passion. I have taught at least two generations of Sunday school kids.  I was a Sunday School Teacher for more than thirty years and a Children’s Pastor for over ten years. I have lived what I dreamed and loved every minute of my life!

There are many ways to serve God, and we serve God as a Foster Family as well. We have had the privilege of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with 28 foster children.

I serve the Lord with my writing as well. I write because I am compelled to put down on paper the inspiration that He gives. It is fun and crazy how He keeps ideas swirling around in my head! I have written Church Dramas, Children’s Stories, Song lyrics, Children’s Church Curriculum, and Church Policy Manuals.  I only write Christian material, and have made a firm decision to keep it that way.  All of my work contains scripture references because His words will always be more effective than mine.  My heart’s desire is to encourage other believers, and to introduce everyone I can to my friend Jesus.

Miscellaneous things about me (In no particular order):  I love Opera, especially Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo.  I hate peas.  I share two dogs with my family; Rico a red Chiweenie and Spock, a small, black, mixed breed rescue dog. I love reading!  I will read books, magazines, newspapers and even cereal boxes, but mostly I read my Bible. I read it over and over! I only have one child left in High School. Now that I am older and my kids are almost all grown, I am very much looking forward to (again in no particular order) reading, writing, rocking grandbabies, visiting my children, teaching/speaking and enjoying more time with my husband.

My favorite book is now, and always will be, the Bible.

So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31

Come with me and let Jesus take the reins of your life. It is an amazing ride! Will you receive him today?
